nice scooter, lousy battery lifeJun 30, 2010 Sturdy, well-made scooter. I was careful to fully charge and then discharge the battery from the very beginning, following the directions to a T. But after only a month and a half there's a noticeable decrease in battery capacity. Maybe half of what it was originally. Very disappointing.
Chain doesn't line up...Jun 06, 2010 This is my second scooter. The first was an IZip 400 bought last year. The charger failed on that scooter (which the company replaced) and it did well for the rest of the summer. Now the throttle is failing, so I decided to get a new scooter.
I bout the Ezip 500 through Amazon. Since I was familiar with the design - assembly wasn't a problem. I noticed the box wasn't in the best condition - most of the staples weren't secure - and mainly tape was holding it together. One part that does come assembled is the wheel and motor assembly. I noticed my rear wheel didn't rotate. A bolt from the motor mount was interfering with the rear wheel sprocket. I backed out the screw and the wheel rotated. It still sounded awful. I discovered the motor and rear wheel are out of alignment by at least 1 cm (close to 1/2 inch). I don't know why exactly the alignment is so far off. Simple adjustments didn't work. I'm still trying to fix it.
So - two scooters, two problems. Once they are working they are great, but the company obviously has quality problems. I would buy at a local store with a good return policy rather than through the mail.

Ok But there are better values eleswhere.May 14, 2010 I owned one of these scooters and all and all it was OK. Some what under powered and lacking much in the way of features. Let my 10yr. old Grandson ride it and bought a Super Turbo 800watt Elite scooter. You can't fairly compare these scooters. The Elite is nearly 8mph faster,it has full suspension with shocks front and rear and a great seat. The clincher is it only cost around $100.00 more and includes increditable service and tech support. You won't find a better value on a scooter for your hard earned dollars. Check it out at "Super Cycles & Scooters". Buy the way after my Grandson saw the Super Turbo Elite he lost interest in the e zips and is now ridding a Elite. As a matter of fact it's hard to get him off it. He says it's "Way Cool Pop's"! Tell Chris Jim Butler sent you and I assure you you won't regret the purchase.
Awesome!Apr 05, 2010 It was good for the price and fun to ride around the neighborhood. It was simple to assemble and the battery lasts a while if you use it right. Goes up hills nicely. Now his brother wants one too!

hours of fun!!!!Dec 30, 2009 We got this for my 9 year old. It is the second one we bought for our children. It is a great scooter. It has good speed, a wide deck, and durable. It takes a bit to get used to the brake but other than that it is perfect. She zips around the neighborhood, around the lake and can keep up with me on my runs. Love it!
