Easily one of my best purchasesMar 11, 2010 This is my first console so I'm not sure how to benchmark it against anything else I've played before (except the Wii, but let's not go there). However, I was totally blown away by the gaming experience on the device. I've been playing Forza3 on it and have been completely hooked. The only downside I experienced was the loud CD/DVD drive. To get around this, I installed the game onto the hard drive and things are running along smoothly now. The load times have reduced dramatically too. As for the pricing, I think the console is cheap enough, but you'd have to shell out a bit to buy accessories that you almost can't do without, like a rechargeable battery for the controller. Other than that, it's a great purchase.

BEWARE BEFORE PURCHASINGMar 10, 2010 I have all three consoles (Wii, PS3 and the Xbox 360). I think the facts speak for themselves i am currently on my third Xbox 360 but i still have my original PS3 and Wii. All my Xbox360s have suffered from the red ring of death and although you might think that you will be covered by the Xbox warranty this may not be the case. Apparently, as i have been informed by the xbox support team, due to a recent policy change microsoft has refused to fix my defective Xbox 360 so I am stuck with a broken Xbox360. Therefore before purchasing this console think carefully if you want to risk it or play it safe and get a PS3 or a Wii because one of their "policies" might change that will mean that you are no longer covered.
Things that were OVER-LOOKED when buying this package...Mar 10, 2010 The Xbox is great, but after opening the box I soon realized that this deal wasn't as good as I thought. Yeah you get two free games in the winter 2009 package, but they dont tell you that they take out the HDMI cable that comes in the normal Elite package and replace it with the standard audio video cables, the yellow, white, and red cable... It's ok though, I traded in those two AWESOME games to Game Stop and got back $6 that eventually went toward a quality brand name HDMI cable that ended up costing just under $50. So if your a 6 year old, go with the winter package cause thats the age group for those two free games, but if your older and DONT care for "kiddie games" buy the regular Elite package without any "FREE BOUNUS STUFF INSIDE"
Xbox is awesomeMar 09, 2010 I bought this system for my nephews and it was a really great deal. They were so excited to get it.
Slam dunkMar 09, 2010 You can't beat the XBOX 360 Elite for this price anywhere. It is an awesome gaming system. It is a slam dunk as far as I'm concerned. The ultimate gaming system with the best graphics.
